Alumni Grants
With more than 3,000 alumni from around the world, IJP forms one of the largest international networks of media professionals, including many senior editors and leaders in the media landscape.
Beyond the fellowships, IJP fosters professional and personal connections among journalists. IJP alumni have the opportunity to apply for travel and research fellowships on selected topics, which are awarded several times a year.
Burns Research Grant / Holbrooke Grant
Alumni of all programs can apply for a Holbrooke Research Fellowship. The fellowship of up to 4,000 euros is intended to support extensive research projects on globally relevant topics. A transatlantic perspective should be part of the project. Applications are open to journalists from different countries working together on a project, but individual projects will also be considered.
The call is continuous until all funds are exceeded.
Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting
Up to three alumni of the IJP network are regularly given the unique opportunity to attend the annual Nobel Laureate Meetings in Lindau and to exchange ideas with numerous Nobel Laureates and young scientists from various disciplines. The scholarship usually covers travel expenses as well as room and board for the entire duration of the conference.
The 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting will take place from 30 June – 5 July 2024. The application period for this year’s travel grants has ended. Topic and application deadline for the 2025 meeting in Lindau will be announced in the first quarter of the year.
